All techniquesExpect a small end piece to remain in the feed tube when shredding/slicing
When shredding or slicing in a food processor, the last small piece often doesn’t feed through cleanly and may stick near the top.
Use the small feed-tube drip hole for slow, controlled liquid addition
If your food processor pusher has a small hole, use it to add liquids slowly (e.g., for dressings) while processing.
Use the correct pusher size so the ingredient fits the feed tube (and pushes safely)
Choose the feed tube insert and matching pusher that fits your ingredient so it feeds straight and your hands stay away from the disc.
Match shredding disc orientation to the desired shred (e.g., 'fine shredding' side up)
When installing a reversible shredding disc, orient it so the labeled side for your target result (like 'fine shredding') faces up.
Change slice thickness during processing (only if you have enough food feeding through)
You can adjust slice thickness while the processor is running, but it’s easier when there’s enough product in the feed tube to see/feel the change.
Use the thickness-adjustment lever correctly by installing the lever mechanism piece
To get different slice thicknesses, install the lever mechanism piece (not just the disc) so the thickness control actually changes the cut.
Unplug the food processor before adjusting blades or troubleshooting assembly
If something seems wrong or you need to adjust parts, unplug the machine first to avoid accidental start-up.
Assemble a food processor slicing disc with the drive shaft and finger-safe hub
Insert the drive shaft and use the disc’s finger holes/hub to place the slicing blade without touching the sharp edge.
