Use the thickness-adjustment lever correctly by installing the lever mechanism piece
To get different slice thicknesses, install the lever mechanism piece (not just the disc) so the thickness control actually changes the cut.
They realize their slices weren’t changing size because they had omitted a specific part; the processor still ran, but the thickness mechanism didn’t work. They show that slipping this piece on enables the thickness to move up/down.
The short version
- The machine may run even if the thickness mechanism isn’t installed
- You should see the mechanism move when you change thickness
What you need
- food processor with adjustable slicingModel-specific mechanism piece
How to do it
- 1
Identify the lever mechanism piece that interfaces with the thickness control.
If slice sizes don’t change, this part may be missing.
Watch this step - 2
Slip/install the mechanism piece onto the assembly as intended (before closing the lid).
Once installed, you should see the size setting move when you move the lever.
Watch this step - 3
Move the thickness lever and confirm the indicator/mechanism moves up/down.
Verify movement before processing a large batch.
Watch this step
What goes wrong
Placing the disc on but skipping the mechanism piece, then wondering why thickness doesn’t change
Install the lever mechanism piece so the thickness control engages
Why it works
The thickness lever needs the matching mechanism installed to translate lever movement into blade height/setting changes.

Use the oven as an alternative to an air fryer for finishing the pizza
If you don’t have an air fryer, you can finish cooking the topped pizza in the oven instead.
Finish a topped pizza in an air fryer at 180°C for 7 minutes
After topping the base, cook it in an air fryer at 180°C for about 7 minutes to melt cheese and heat through.
Expect a small end piece to remain in the feed tube when shredding/slicing
When shredding or slicing in a food processor, the last small piece often doesn’t feed through cleanly and may stick near the top.
Use the small feed-tube drip hole for slow, controlled liquid addition
If your food processor pusher has a small hole, use it to add liquids slowly (e.g., for dressings) while processing.
