Re-press the same pulp by reopening, repositioning, and squeezing again
After an initial press, open the press, fold/reposition the cloth and pulp, then squeeze again repeatedly to extract more oil.
The creator demonstrates a cycle: press, open, keep the setup over the bowl/funnel, fold the cloth back into place, reload/reposition the pulp, and press again. They repeat this over and over to keep extracting oil from the same material.
The short version
- Open and re-seat the cloth/pulp to keep extracting
- Keep everything over the container to avoid spills
What you need
- bowl or bottle with funnelCatch oil during pressing and when opening the press
- spatulaoptionalUseful for scraping spilled oil back into the container
How to do it
- 1
Press the pulp until oil flow slows.
Keep the press positioned over your bowl/funnel to catch drips.
Watch this step - 2
Open the press carefully while keeping it over the container.
Oil can spill when you flip it open.
Watch this step - 3
Fold/reposition the cloth back to cover the holes and put the pulp back in.
You don’t need to mash it down; just place it back in.
Watch this step - 4
Press again with gentle pressure; repeat the cycle as needed.
Repeat ‘over and over’ to build up a bottle of oil.
Watch this step
What goes wrong
Opening the press away from the bowl/funnel and dripping oil everywhere
Keep the press over the container whenever you open/flip it.
Why it works
Repositioning exposes new surfaces and redistributes the pulp so remaining oil can be expressed more effectively.
