Ingredients
  • 240 ml Lukewarm water
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Instant or active dried yeastUse 25 grams if using fresh yeast
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oilOr use soft butter
  • 400 g White bread flour
  • 100 g Whole wheat flourMix with salt
  • 1 tsp SaltMix with whole wheat flour

    Add sugar to lukewarm water and mix until dissolved.

    Add yeast to the water and mix. Set aside for 10 minutes to activate.

    Add activated yeast mixture to the mixer bowl.

    Add oil or soft butter to the bowl.

    Add white bread flour and whole wheat flour with salt to the bowl.

    Knead the dough for 10 minutes using a stand mixer or by hand.

    Form the dough into a ball and coat with oil.

    Cover the dough and let it proof in a warm spot for 1 hour.

    Knock back the dough and shape it into a bloomer.

    Place the shaped dough on a greased baking tray and cover. Let it proof for 45 minutes.

    Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).

    Score the loaf and bake for 30 minutes.

    Cool the bread on a wire rack for 20 minutes before slicing.
