- •1/2 cup Icing sugarAlso known as powdered sugar
- •Orange zestZest of one orange
- •1 cup ButterCold
- •1 pinch Salt(optional)Skip if using salted butter
- •1 count EggBeaten
- •Mincemeat fillingStore-bought or homemade
- •Egg washFor brushing the lids
- •Icing sugarFor dusting

Add flour to a food processor.

Add icing sugar and orange zest.

Add cold butter and a pinch of salt.

Pulse until mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

Add beaten egg and mix until dough forms.

Wrap dough in cling film and refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Preheat oven to 180°C (355°F).

Roll out pastry and cut into circles for pie bases.

Place pastry bases into greased tart tin and dock with a fork.
