Ingredients
  • 1 sheet Shortcrust pastryfor the bottom of the pie
  • 1 sheet Puff pastryfor the top of the pie
  • 2 cans Stewed steakfor the filling
  • Butter(optional)for greasing the plate
  • 1 Eggfor egg wash
  • 1 splash Milk(optional)to mix with egg for egg wash

    Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).

    Grease the pie plate with butter.

    Roll out the shortcrust pastry and line the bottom of the pie plate.

    Pour the stewed steak filling onto the pastry base.

    Roll out the puff pastry and place it over the filling.

    Crimp the edges of the pastry to seal the pie.

    Cut vent holes in the top of the pie.

    Mix the egg with a splash of milk and brush over the pastry for an egg wash.

    Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes until golden brown.

    Let the pie cool for 15 minutes before serving.
