Ingredients
  • Butterfor greasing
  • 2 tablespoons Golden syrupfor the mould
  • 1 Eggfree-range
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powderlightly heaped
  • 2 teaspoons Ground ginger
  • 75 grams Muscovado sugar
  • 1 Orange zestzest of 1 orange
  • 1 Orange juicejuice of 1 orange
  • 150 millilitres Whole milk
  • 1-2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 175 grams Plain flour
  • 75 grams Suetanimal or veggie
  • Saltpinch

    Grease a pudding mould with butter.

    Add golden syrup to the mould, coating the edges.

    In a bowl, combine egg, baking powder, ground ginger, muscovado sugar, orange zest, and orange juice.

    Add whole milk and vanilla extract to the mixture.

    Mix in plain flour and suet to form a batter.

    Add a pinch of salt and mix well.

    Pour the batter into the prepared mould.

    Cover with greaseproof paper and secure loosely.
