Chop the chives finely and set aside.

Mix mascarpone cheese with salt, pepper, and a touch of garlic powder. Set aside.

Whisk egg with milk to make an egg wash.

Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F).

Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place the smaller piece of pastry on it.

Spread some cream cheese mixture on the pastry and place salmon fillets on top.

Cover salmon with remaining cream cheese mixture.

Brush edges of the pastry with egg wash.

Place larger pastry piece on top, press edges to seal, and brush with egg wash.
