- •250 grams WaterUse bottled or filtered water if possible

Grease a 2-pound (900 gram) loaf tin with butter or shortening and set aside.

Mix 215 grams of bread flour and 215 grams of all-purpose flour in a bowl.

Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the flour mixture.

Heat 250 grams of water to about 40°C (104°F) and dissolve 1 teaspoon of sugar in it.

Add 1 teaspoon of instant yeast to the warm water and let it sit for 10 minutes until foamy.

Add the yeast mixture to the flour and mix well.

Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and mix until combined.

Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 30 to 60 minutes until doubled in size.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, knock back the dough, and shape it into a loaf.

Place the dough into the prepared loaf tin and let it rise again until it reaches about an inch above the tin.

Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).

Bake the loaf for 30 minutes, then remove from the tin and bake for an additional 5 minutes if desired.
