In a small saucepan, melt 1/2 cup unsalted butter, 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter, and 1 cup water over medium-low heat until smooth.

In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 cups sugar, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.

Add 2 room temperature eggs, 1/2 cup milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
