Minced Beef Pies

- •500 g Minced beef5% fat content

- •2 cubes Beef stockor natural beef stock
- •2 teaspoons Corn flourmixed with cold water
- •240 ml Waterfor pastry
- •100 g Butterfor pastry
- •100 g Lardfor pastry
- •500 g Plain flourfor pastry
- •1 count Eggfor egg wash
- •1 dash Milkfor egg wash

Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add diced onions and cook until soft and starting to color.

Add minced beef to the onions. Cook until separated and lightly browned, about 10 minutes.

Season with black pepper and salt. Add beef stock and thicken with corn flour mixed with cold water.

Cool the filling completely before using.

For pastry, heat water, butter, and lard until melted. Mix with plain flour and salt to form dough.

Divide dough into portions for pie bases and lids. Roll out each portion separately.

Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F). Grease pie tins and line with pastry bases.

Fill pastry bases with cooled beef filling. Cover with pastry lids, crimp edges, and cut vents.

Brush pies with egg wash. Bake for 45 minutes until golden brown.
