Ingredients
  • 2 Spring onionsfinely chopped
  • 200 g Self-raising flour
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 100 g Butterrubbed in until it resembles breadcrumbs
  • 100 g Beef suetor vegetable suet
  • 1 Large egg
  • 100 ml Milk
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 2 Onions
  • 500 g Minced beef5% fat
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Dried thyme
  • 560 ml Beef stockmade with stock cubes
  • 1 tbsp Corn flourmixed with water

    Finely chop the spring onions.

    Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl.

    Add the butter and rub it in until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.

    Add the chopped spring onions and beef suet, then toss together.

    Add the egg and milk, then gently mix until it becomes a sticky mass.

    Cover the mixture and let it sit at room temperature for 2-3 hours.

    Heat oil in a pan and add onions, stirring for a minute.

    Add minced beef and mix with onions. Season with black pepper, salt, and thyme.

    Cook until the mince turns light brown and separates.

    Add beef stock, bring to a simmer, and cook for 10 minutes.

    Thicken with corn flour mixed with water.
