Ingredients
  • 500 g Strong white bread flour
  • 10 g Salt
  • 7 g Dried yeastInstant or active dried yeast
  • 350 ml Warm waterAround 40°C (104°F)
  • 2 tbsp Oil

    Warm the mixing bowl by filling it with hot water, then dry it.

    Add the strong white bread flour to the warm bowl.

    Add salt to the flour and whisk together.

    Add dried yeast to the flour mixture.

    Add warm water and oil to the bowl and mix until combined.

    Cover the bowl and let the dough rise for at least 1 hour.

    Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knock back the dough.

    Return the dough to the bowl for another 30-minute rise.

    Turn the dough out again, knock back, and shape into an oval.

    Place the dough into a greased loaf tin and let rise for 45 minutes.

    Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).

    Bake the loaf for 30 minutes, turning halfway if needed.

    Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack for 30 minutes.
