Ingredients
  • 130 g Golden caster sugar
  • 70 g Icing sugar
  • 200 g Butter
  • 200 g ChocolateBest quality available
  • 6 Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla paste or extract
  • 2 gratings Orange zest(optional)
  • 200 g Self-raising gluten-free flourUse regular self-raising flour if not gluten-free
  • 200 g Icing sugar (for buttercream)
  • 200 g Butter (for buttercream)
  • 200 g Chocolate (for buttercream)Melted
  • 1 pinch Salt(optional)
  • Raspberries(optional)For decoration

    Melt 200g butter, 200g sugar (130g golden caster sugar and 70g icing sugar), and 200g chocolate over simmering water.

    Prepare a cake mold by greasing with butter and dusting with flour.

    Add 6 eggs to the cooled chocolate mixture, whisking one at a time.

    Add 2 teaspoons of vanilla paste or extract and orange zest to the mixture.

    Sift in 200g self-raising gluten-free flour and fold into the mixture.

    Pour the mixture into the prepared mold and bake at 160°C for 50 minutes.

    For the buttercream, melt 200g chocolate and mix with 200g icing sugar and 200g butter. Add a pinch of salt.

    Once the cake is cooled, fill and cover with buttercream. Decorate with raspberries.
