  • 1 Eggsfor egg wash
  • equal amounts Butterfor roux
  • equal amounts Flourfor roux
  • Milkfor béchamel
  • 1/2 Red onionfor flavoring milk
  • Clovesfor flavoring milk
  • 2 Bay leavesfor flavoring milk
  • a little bit Saltfor flavoring milk
  • a hint Black pepperfor flavoring milk
  • Mushroomsfor flavoring milk
  • a hint Cayenne pepperfor flavoring milk
  • 50 g Gruyere cheesefor béchamel
  • Hamdiced, for béchamel

    Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).

    Unroll puff pastry sheets and cut to fit baking tubes.

    Roll pastry around baking tubes, seal with egg wash, and decorate.

    Bake pastry tubes for 15-20 minutes until golden.

    Make a roux by melting butter and mixing with flour over low heat.

    Flavor milk with onion, cloves, bay leaves, salt, pepper, mushrooms, and cayenne. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
