Ingredients
  • 1 cup Warm waterTemperature around 40°C (104°F)
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 20 grams YeastInstant, active dried, or fresh
  • 500 grams Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vegetable oilCan use olive oil as an alternative

    Test the yeast by adding sugar to warm water and then add yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until it foams.

    Mix flour and salt in a bowl. Add the yeast mixture and mix.

    Add oil and bring the mixture together into a dough.

    Knead the dough by hand for 10 minutes until smooth.

    Place dough in a warm bowl with a little oil, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.

    Turn dough onto workbench, knock back, and shape into a ball for second rise. Let rise for 45 minutes.

    Preheat oven to 200°C (394°F).

    Place dough on a baking tray, sprinkle with flour, and cover with a light cloth. Let rise for final 45 minutes.

    Slash the top of the dough and bake for 30 minutes.

    Cool on a wire rack for 20 minutes before slicing.
