Dutch Oven Bread

- •1 tbsp Sugar
- •2 tbsp ButterSoftened
- •2 1/4 tsp YeastInstant or active dried
- •3 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
- •1 1/2 tsp Salt

Add sugar to warm water.

Add softened butter and yeast to the water mixture. Mix thoroughly and set aside to activate.

Add activated yeast mixture to a bowl, then add flour and salt. Mix with a wooden spoon handle.

Knead the dough by hand for 10 minutes or use a stand mixer.

Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let it proof for 1 hour in a warm spot.

Knock back the dough, shape it, and place it in a greased Dutch oven. Let it proof for 45 minutes.

Preheat oven to 210°C (410°F).

Score the dough and place the lid on the Dutch oven. Bake for 30 minutes.

Remove the lid and bake for an additional 5 minutes to crisp the top.

Remove bread from the oven, cool on a wire rack, and serve.
