Ingredients
  • Black dalRinse until water runs clear
  • WaterEnough to cover dal
  • Tomato paste
  • Ginger paste
  • Garlic paste
  • Garam masala
  • Kashmir chili powder
  • Salt
  • ButterA touch
  • Heavy cream
Instructions

    Rinse black dal until the water runs clear.

    Cover dal with water and bring to a boil. Cook for 2 hours until creamy.

    Drain water, cover with fresh water, and bring back to a boil.

    Add tomato paste, ginger paste, garlic paste, garam masala, Kashmir chili powder, and salt. Mix into a paste and add to dal with butter.

    Cook aggressively for 30 minutes.
