  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 cup Dutch processed cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butterRoom temperature
  • 1/2 cup Light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups Granulated sugar
  • 3 EggsRoom temperature
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Sour cream
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Hot coffee

    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter and flour two 9-inch cake pans and line with parchment paper.

    Sift together flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder in a large bowl.

    In a medium bowl, mix cocoa powder and vegetable oil to form a slurry.

    Cream butter until smooth, then add cocoa slurry and mix.

    Add brown sugar and granulated sugar to the butter mixture and beat until fluffy.

    Add eggs and vanilla to the mixture and beat until combined.

    Mix in sour cream and milk alternately with the dry ingredients.

    Stir in hot coffee until the batter is smooth.
