- •1 tbsp Sugar
- •2 tsp Instant dried yeastCan use active dried or fresh yeast (20g) instead
- •4 cups All-purpose flour
- •1 tsp Salt
- •2 tbsp Softened butter
- •Oil(optional)For greasing

- •1 tsp Milk(optional)To thin the egg wash

Mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes to activate.

In a stand mixer, combine flour, salt, and softened butter. Add yeast mixture.

Knead dough for 10 minutes using a stand mixer or by hand.

Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let proof for 45 minutes until doubled in size.

Divide dough into 12 equal pieces, shape into balls, and place on greased baking trays.

Cover dough balls and let proof for another 45 minutes.

Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F). Prepare egg wash by mixing egg and milk.
