Ingredients
  • 2 Onionssliced
  • 1 kg Potatoeswaxy
  • 500 ml Cream
  • 500 ml Milk
  • Cheese(optional)optional
  • 3 Garlic clovescrushed
  • Thyme
  • Rosemary
  • 10 Peppercorns
  • Nutmeg(optional)optional
  • Salt
  • Black pepper

    Slice the onions and cook them slowly in oil with a bit of salt until lightly caramelized.

    Peel and slice the potatoes.

    In a pot, combine cream and milk with thyme, rosemary, crushed garlic, and peppercorns. Bring to a boil and simmer for a few minutes. Strain the mixture.

    Layer the sliced potatoes in a baking dish, adding a ladle of the cream mixture between each layer.

    Add a layer of caramelized onions and repeat the layering process.

    Finish with a final layer of cream and bake in the oven for about 30 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
