Ingredients
  • 250 g Flour
  • 50 g Icing sugarPowdered sugar
  • .5 tsp Orange zest
  • .25 tsp Salt(optional)Skip if using salted butter
  • 125 g ButterCold
  • 1 EggBeaten
  • 6 ApplesPeeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 small Lemon juiceJuice of one small lemon
  • 100 g Sugar
  • .5 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch NutmegFreshly grated
  • 25 g Butter
  • 1 Egg wash(optional)For brushing, can use milk instead
  • 1 tbsp SugarFor sprinkling

    Add flour to a food processor or mix by hand.

    Add icing sugar and orange zest.

    Add salt if using unsalted butter.

    Add cold butter and pulse until breadcrumb consistency.

    Drizzle in beaten egg until dough forms.

    Divide dough into two pieces, wrap, and chill for 30 minutes.

    Peel, core, and slice apples. Toss in lemon juice.

    Melt sugar in a pan, add apples, and cook until softened.

    Add cinnamon and nutmeg, then butter. Cool filling.

    Preheat oven to 160°C (320°F).
