Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butterroom temperature
  • 1 cup Caster sugar
  • 3 Eggsmedium-sized, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups All-purpose floursifted
  • 1/2 cup Cocoa powdersifted
  • 2 tsp Baking powdersifted
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Dark chocolate chipssemi-sweet
  • 30 g Milk chocolate chips(optional)for topping

    Preheat oven to 180°C (356°F).

    Prepare a muffin tin with paper cases.

    Cream butter and caster sugar together until light and fluffy.

    Add beaten eggs in stages, whisking until light and fluffy each time.

    Sift dry ingredients together: flour, cocoa powder, baking powder.

    Fold dry ingredients and milk into the butter mixture in stages.

    Fold in dark chocolate chips.

    Spoon batter into muffin cases, filling each about 2/3 full.

    Top with milk chocolate chips.

    Bake for 25 minutes. Check with a skewer; if not clean, bake 2-3 more minutes.

    Cool muffins in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
