  • .25 oz Yeastactivated in warm milk with sugar
  • 1 cup Milkwarm
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tbsp Liquid malt or honey(optional)for flavor and color
  • 3 cups Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Buttersoftened, added gradually
  • 4 cloves Garlicfinely minced
  • 2 tbsp Parsley(optional)finely chopped
  • 1 cup Grated cheeseany cheese of choice
  • 1 Egg yolkfor brushing

    Activate the yeast by dissolving it in warm milk with sugar.

    Add eggs and mix well.

    Incorporate liquid malt or honey, flour, and salt. Mix until shaggy.

    Add butter gradually, kneading until absorbed. Let dough rest for 30 minutes.

    Fold dough a few times, shape into a ball, and let rise for 2 to 3 hours.

    Prepare garlic butter by blending softened butter with minced garlic and parsley.

    Roll out dough to 6-7 mm thick and 30x30 cm wide. Spread garlic butter and sprinkle cheese.

    Shape dough into layered squares or spiral roll. Place in baking pan for final rise of 30 minutes.
