Best Way To Cut & Seed a Pomegranate
A quick method for cutting and seeding a pomegranate by scoring the skin, splitting along the veins, and tapping out the arils with a wooden spoon.

Cut off the top (crown) of the pomegranate by scoring about 1/2 to 1 inch down around the top, cutting only through the skin.

Wiggle and remove the top to expose the inside and locate the veins (membranes).

Score the pomegranate skin from top to bottom following the direction of the veins, cutting only through the skin.

Separate the pomegranate into two halves along the scored lines.

Gently pull each half apart slightly to loosen the seeds.

Hold a half seed-side down in your palm and tap the back firmly with a wooden spoon until the seeds fall out.
